Procedures and requirement of RHCT

RHCT is abbreviation of Red Hat Certified technician. It stands at the bottom or entry level of Linux training to achieve a higher level i-e RHCE (red hat certified engineer). It validates the knowledge and skill which is essential to measure the actual competence on the live systems. It is the first step to enter in Linux credential establishment and is also ideal for those who enter in Linux field from non Linux environment. RHCT certification is a real test of candidates in the field of configuration, live systems, trouble shooting, system administration, system installation at enterprise level.
Red Hat Certification exam requirements are as below:
RHCT exam comprises of two sections. Section 1  has 60 minutes of duration time and it comprises troubleshooting and maintenance of system. The candidate has to attend all questions in section1 and section 2 is approximately of 2 hours duration and it consists of configuration and installation part. There are no multiple choice questions and all things are performed on live systems. More oftenly there are more than one solution to a problem and this test focuses on the result and not on the method to get the result. Every candidate have to obtain 70% scores in each exam.  RHCT certification can be said to be a subset of RHCE certification exam. The duration of which is 5 hours and cost is approximately 400 USD that will change accordingly due to varying number of taxes and exchange rate. The candidate who wants to qualify RH302 exam is eligible only if he has RHCT certification. As it is a lab base examination so it is under taken in authorized centres only and if a candidate is failed in RH202 exam, then he is awarded with RHCT certification.
